Approaching my fourth year in the seat I remain humbled and as eager as the first day in continuing what we started years ago, to ensure the cohort remains ready to support Commanders wherever and whenever needed. As we remain laser focused on transformation and our goal for continuous improvement we will not rest on the accomplishments of the past, we must continue to innovate forward. With that in mind, we will reimagine warrant officer professional military education (PME) through continued enhancements to how we deliver and assess warrant officer PME. Perhaps CW4 Jody Herrs’ article highlighting the need for a new study on warrant officer utilization and education will contribute to a future evolution of what PME should be. Here at USAWOCC, you can trust that we are all in, seeking new opportunities aligned under our new higher headquarters to innovate warfighting education at the pace required to stay aligned with the needs of the Joint Force. The Army War College (AWC) assumed initial operating capability (IOC) as the new Army University earlier this year. This creates opportunities for new enhancements to warrant officer education. As many of you are already aware, we have been working and will implement a new course, the Warrant Officer Master Course (WOMC) in FY27. Capitalizing on an opportunity, the course will now align under the Army Strategic Education Program (ASEP) located at Carlisle Barracks, PA, while still being delivered to the force in FY27.

A huge thanks to all that continue to think, write, and submit work for publication in this, and other professional journals tied to warfighting, our profession, and how we can support the Army’s transformation for what lies ahead. I appreciate our readers as well as those who continue to invest through academic and leader development across the T2COM, CAC and Army University enterprise. Keep up the fire!
